Moxy on the Move - Guitar Center

Moxy is a hip uglydoll. Yesterday she wanted to broaden her musical horizons so off to Guitar Center we went.

Moxy loves the blissful sounds of a good Ukulele.

At first the folks at guitar center wanted to know if I was trading her in on a guitar. I told them no, but they seemed as if they really wanted an uglydoll. Then Moxy told them she wasn't for sale or for trade and to buzz off. Which they really didn't do so much. Apparently the boys at Guitar Center don't see many girls during their day at work.

Moxy is ready for her drum solo.

Moxy really enjoyed playing the drums. She's totally a bad-ass drummer chick. The drum guy agreed as well.

You weren't aware Moxy is a classically trained concert pianist.

Okay so maybe she isn't a classically trained concert pianist but she is pretty classy. Classy ladies always love the piano. Granted most of the time they're splayed across the top of it but this is just a digital piano and Guitar Center really isn't that kind of place if you catch my drift.

Moxy was very sad that Peaco had to stay behind but he wasn't feeling too well. And he wouldn't fit in the bag but we're pretty sure he would have danced his way around the store and had a blast in the DJ room. There's always next time!

Moxy on the Move - The Doctor's Office

After a long hiatus Moxy is back! With a friend, Peaco!

Over the Christmas holiday they both traveled to the doctor for their annual checkup.

Moxy and Peaco patiently await the doctor.

That's Peaco on the left. He loves, loves, loves to Dance! He came to our little family from our friend Cyndy and is extremely excited to become a part of the Moxy on the Move segments. Whenever you see him from this point on he'll be groovin' to the music!

They're now sitting on the table awaiting their exams.

Moxy was quite concerned that the nurse hadn't torn off the old paper from the previous patient so she demanded that they not touch the icky paper. Peaco is trying to be nice so he acquiesced to her request.

I'm not exactly sure how you take an Uglydoll's blood pressure.

Moxy was quite perturbed after the blood pressure reading. Mostly because she felt that her high blood pressure could be attributed to the fact that they were taking it over her whole body and also that her insides were being squished.

Oh Peaco, you're not a baby!

Here Peaco is just being funny. He's not really a baby but he is a whopper! Look at the scale, it's totally tipped to the right. Oh Peaco.

Please be sure and check back for our next adventure soon to come! I promise. (I totally have to make good on it to because now they outnumber me. Eek!)

Moxy on the Move - McDonald's

Just to prove to everyone how classy Moxy and I are, this weekend we went to the McDonald's. Woo Hoo!

Moxy in the window at McDonalds.
Notice how many people are actually in the McDonald's.

Moxy was extremely excited about McDonald's. Say what you will about it being gross and all but there is a reason they're the most popular restaurant in the world. The answer is salt and processed meat.

Moxy loves Ronald McDonald.

Nevermind that it's more than a little creepy that there is a bench with a fake clown sitting on it; I feel like this is just training children to trust perverts in wigs even more. But Moxy loves Ronald. The man does have an actually decent charity.

Find the Moxy!

These shoe bins kind of creep me out. Who lets their kids take their shoes off in a restaurant? Who lets their kids play in those pee infested balls and slides? At least this one is inside so random people off the street can't get in the them to sleep and stuff. I swear I think I just remembered a repressed memory of finding a homeless person in a slide one time when I was little. Maybe that was my cousin...

Anyways! See you next time!

(I promise more Moxy on the Move posts when the summer is over and I don't miss valuable pool time galavanting all over creation.)

Moxy on the Move - Harris Teeter / Snackie Reconnaissance

Sundays are a day of rest and snackies. And maybe some processed chicken products thrown in for good measure. Moxy traveled with JRR and I on our pursuit of the snackies.

Moxy on the disabled person's cart.

Apparently Moxy is lazy and would like to stroll around the grocery store in the motorized shopping cart. Unfortunately she is too short to steer it and I was not about to look like a fool riding around the Harris Teeter with an Uglydoll in my lap who is not disabled or morbidly obese. You seriously have to draw the line somewhere.

Moxy is a part of your nutritious breakfast?

While trying to figure out what cereal Moxy would probably be if she were a cereal the answer became blatantly obvious. And no it's not the Kashi or the Corn Flakes. She is definitely not sweet like honey nor is she shredded. Cooky? Yes. Loco? Yes. Rocks in her brain? Maybe.

Uglydolls can be found in your local grocer's freezer section.

Who knew? Between the tater tots (Yum!) and pierogis (I have no real evaluation about pierogis. Apparently they're brilliant?) you can find frozen Uglydolls!

Actually Moxy figured out that she does not enjoy being cold or having her antennae smushed. It's really awkward getting into with a doll in the middle of the grocery store for having shoved her in the freezer. You gets lots and lots of odd looks. . .

Oh well. We survived and everyone is the better for it. Snackies were obtained and everyone was happy happy happy.

See you next time!

Moxy on the Move - A Newly Renovated Farmhouse

So this weekend Moxy ventured with me to a very dear friend's brandy-new farmhouse. Okay, she'd kill me for saying that because she and her wizard-house-building-husband spent a year of their life renovating said definitely-not-new-house to resemble a new house. Boy does it look amazing!

Lizzie and Moxy.

First things first. This is Lizzie. Lizzie is the protector of the household and also the handy dandy taquito catcher. She also has laser beams for eyes which are useful when bandits come knocking because she can chop off their legs with one easy swipe. Lizzie is a good dog.

Moxy with the twins.

I personally love this picture a lot. Moxy wasn't really enthused about having to sit in a fruit bowl in front of it. First of all she said that she doesn't resemble fruit in any way and I mentioned that it's probably real silver and she needs to shut up. Then she mumbled something about some set of twins and the Shining. ???

Moxy is a gambling uglydoll.

Who knew my uglydoll had a poker problem? This is the reason why I find her sitting in front of the computer screen at odd hours of the night. Online video poker. Geez oh pete. At least she can learn from a pro here at the farmhouse. Although, I wouldn't sit in on a game that Moxy dealt; She can't be an honest dealer. But maybe she is. I don't want you to think that I think negatively of her. I just know she has a problem.

Moxy and the Kitchen Decor.

First of all take a moment to notice the backsplash. For serious, how freaking awesome is that? Then there is the cobalt mixer, which would have totally gone in my pocket if I was wearing bigger pants, not to mention those canisters. Amazing! And the coup de grace? The pitcher of amazing yellow goodness behind Moxy! Homegirl can make some punch!

Hopefully for the remaining Sundays of the summer this is where you'll find me. (: Maybe Moxy too!

Moxy on the Move - Moxy Rides the Bus

So, in an attempt to ease the burden on my pocketbook and to save the earth, I have decided to take the bus for my daily commute to and from work. Yesterday was the first day of this adventure and I brought Moxy along for the ride.

Noooo. Not the light!

Moxy, while excited the night before, was not so excited the morning of. She may look bright-eyed and bushy tailed but that's because she has no eyelids and cannot close her eyes. You see that she is reaching to shield her eyes from the light? She is not a morning uglydoll.

Moxy sitting in her seat on the bus.

Moxy enjoyed the bus ride. She got a seat to herself and although we were both a smidgen leery about riding the bus no one harassed, harangued , or hassled us. They pretty much ignored us and our bus ride was without incident, which is nice - don't get me wrong, but you must understand that Moxy is a uglydoll with a lot of moxie. She was secretly hoping that some incident would occur where she could prove her worth. I was grateful this did not happen.

Moxy in the bag ready to go.

Because Moxy rode the bus with me she had to endure an entire day at work with me. By about 3:30 she was ready to go. I look over and she's not-so-patiently waiting in my bag; glaring at me. So off we went on our mile long jaunt back to the bus station and away on the bus we went. Nothing eventful happened on the return trip either and Moxy just slept so there was no use in taking another photo of her. All in all it was a successful MotM.

Come back this weekend to see where Moxy goes next!

Moxy on the Move - The Nissen Building Pool

Today Moxy decided she needed a day of fun in the sun! Woo hoo! Off we went to the roof of the Nissen building to hang out at the pool.

Moxy chillaxing on the steps of the pool.

Moxy loves her aviator sunglasses. We have matching pairs, because we're hip and happening kind of people. Well Moxy is a hip and happening uglydoll, I'm hip and happening people. Person really.

Moxy is life of the partay at the pool.

In true uglydoll nature she has all the best jokes. Truly, they're Hi-Lar-Ious. Hilarious. As you can see all of her friends think she's the cat's meow.

Moxy getting some sun.

True to her rebellious form, Moxy lays out without sunscreen! Oh the horror! Thankfully I don't think uglydolls can get skin cancer. No thymine dimers for Moxy. She is truly a lucky lucky uglydoll. Unfortunately she doesn't tan, which she is very sad about.

We had quite a wonderful day at the pool today! Hopefully we'll have many more pool days in the future as the first day of summer is tomorrow. Can't wait to see you there!

Moxy on the Move - Hancock Fabrics

Off we were to find fabric for curtains. Our new abode needs curtains.

Moxy picking out fabric.

Unfortunately, while this is a lovely matching fabric for a particular uglydoll, it is not what we were looking for. We're looking for yellow fabrics to match our new Crate and Barrel duvet. I suppose this is what happens when you let an uglydoll pick out fabric.

More Moxy like fabric.

It's a fabric store, what other exciting images were you expecting exactly?

Picking out curtain tiebacks and tassels.

Moxy was quite perplexed as to what exactly these tassels and curtain ties were for. I explained to her that while some people use them as belts (For serious. I saw a woman one day using one as a belt, with the tassel and everything.) they are used to hold back your curtains so that light can be let in. I then explained to Moxy that we won't be purchasing any tassels because I think they're pretty hideous. She was of the opposite opinion. Clearly.

We never did find what we were looking for but when do we ever find what we're looking for in these trips? Pretty much never. Although I suppose it could be said that the majority of the time we don't have a goal. Anyway, see you next Saturday for the next Moxy on the Move!

Moxy on the Move - Cracker Barrel

Moxy is a cantankerous uglydoll and demanded that I take her to dinner. She gave me some line about how I'm ashamed of her and won't take her her places. Blah blah blah. I then showed her the blog.

She still demanded to go to dinner. So we went to the Cracker Barrel.

Moxy waiting for the proverbial dinner bell.

Of course we had to wait. You always have to wait at Cracker Barrel. Although they said 15 minutes and we waited about 3 minutes. So no complaints there.

Moxy in the candy.

Who knows exactly what flavors uglydolls are but Moxy is definitely worth more than 15 cents. I'm guessing a mix of sour apple and blueberry.I suppose she doesn't possess the proper camouflage skills to blend in with the candy.

Moxy picking out what she wants to eat.

Try as she might, Moxy cannot read. And the fit that ensued was a sight to behold.

She thought there should be pictures representative of the food. We ended up with country ham and green beans. The both of us share a love for all things salty and let's face it, it's country ham. Everybody likes country ham. If you happen to be one of those that don't...

Then you should go back to Canadia. Where they have their own brand of ham.

See you next Saturday!

Moxy on the Move - Dance Recital

So sorry for missing last week but Moxy went two places this week so hopefully that will make up for the missing Moxy on the Move.

This week Moxy went to her very dear friend's dance recital. She was all abuzz with excitement as she had never seen much dancing.

Moxy patiently awaiting the beginning of the show!

Moxy's favorite dance by far was the 5-yr old group doing the hammer dance. It was the most brilliant thing ever. But very unappreciated. Seriously, it should have brought the house down yet it did not. So Moxy and I went on a search for one of these children to abscond with and make do the hammer dance for us at will.

Moxy on the stage.

We never did find one of those kids so we settled for a picture of Moxy on stage. Moxy was a little blue. Then we realized that the orchestra pit had dropped and this added a great amount of drama to the picture! Oh my! What if Moxy had fallen in? But alas she is an uglydoll with a sturdy frame and thus survived her treacherous walk on the ledge.

Moxy with a dance recital poster.

This was after Moxy's dear friend's awesome performance! Way to go CMW! She did wonderfully. Her performance as a zombie in the Thriller rendition was amazing. All in all, Moxy had a very good time at the dance recital and hopefully she has some new career aspirations!

Moxy's adventure to Cracker Barrel is coming shortly so be on the lookout!

Moxy on the Move - Bass Pro Shop

Moxy wanted a real adventure, so we ventured to the Bass Pro Shop at Concord Mills Mall.

Moxy trying on a hunting hat.

The bad thing about being an uglydoll is that your antennae get in the way sometimes. Especially when you're trying to rock a Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom hat. Moxy decided that her hat would have to have holes cut in it for her antennae.

Moxy posing with the fishes in the fish tank. Or a fish really.

So apparently Bass Pro Shops at Concord Mills Mall in Concord, NC has the most ginormous catfish known to man kind. Well it may not be that big but it is huge! Unfortunately he was too big to get in this picture so here Moxy is posing with a smaller but equally nice fish.

Please ignore the blurriness of this image. It was artistically done so as if you too were on the
"Party Barge 200" partying it up with Moxy.

Who knew there was a pontoon boat named the Party Barge 200? But there is. And Moxy has decided that this is the boat she would like to purchase, but she's going to need to get a job first.

Moxy being eaten by the fish mailbox!

Although she does not yet have a house, when she does get one she would like this mailbox. Moxy however does not like to be eaten. By a plastic fish or a real one. She also does not like to be mailed anywhere as she shares the same aversion to postal workers that I do.

Mooses are really quite large.

Really, really large. Moxy was a little bit afraid of the moose. But he was a friendly moose, a very friendly moose. In fact he was sad when Moxy had to go! I think he's a lonely moose. The bushbuck on the wall behind him did not look friendly at all.

You can't see Moxy when she's in her camouflage.

Seriously, you can't.

It was really hard to find her.

Our trip to Bass Pro Shops was fun and enlightening. But we did find that there are obviously not a lot of women that roll through the Bass Pro Shops because we got lots and lots of very strange looks. Especially at the gun counter. Maybe we will go to the gun show next weekend...

Moxy on the Move - Pet Supplies Plus

Today Moxy traveled to Pet Supplies Plus. She was interested in pet supplies. Obviously. Not that she has any pets. She tries to convince Duck that he's her pet but Duck isn't having any of it. So she was in the market for a pet. But Rusty wants me to inform everyone that Pet Supplies Plus does not actually have any pets in the store. (That was the only way I was going to drag him into the store with me.)

Moxy on the Food Scale

Moxy is a girl that has to watch her figure, hence her interest in the scale. But then she decided she was a girl of confidence and decided to ignore the results.

Moxy trying out the Wabbitat

Since Moxy is the approximate size of a Rabbit she thought that she would try out the rabbit cages. She's decided that she doesn't like the feeling of being confined.

Where's Moxy?

Moxy has always sought out a carpeted refuge. And alas she has found a cat tree. She did not get said cat tree because it was $100 but it was a nice thought for a little while. You can never really go wrong with a padded jungle gym...Maybe they could consider putting them into padded rooms in asylums? They'll definitely provide hours of entertainment there.

See you next Saturday!

Moxy on the Move - Ski & Tennis Station

Today Moxy ventured to Ski & Tennis Station, which has lots of interesting yet over-priced things. It was an eventful trip. She was almost caught by the staff whilst climbing on the gear! Oh no!

Moxy likes Lacrosse heads. They're like a hammock for an uglydoll.

Moxy, being a hip and happening uglydoll, is into full contact sports. Hence her interest in lacrosse. She would waste you on the lacrosse field. Be wary. However, she has no interest in being the lacrosse ball. She was very adamant about that.

Moxy practices safety.

It's always important to protect yourself against unwanted diseases and accidental drownings. Moxy saw the boogie boards and literally had a conniption fit. She likes purple so she picked this life jacket. You can never be too careful.

Moxy yearns to ski.

Moxy wants to ski. Alas, she is a warm weather uglydoll. She would love to ski as long as there wasn't snow on the ground and she could have a martini. She's a martini kind of girl. Needless to say there won't be any skiing in Moxy's future. This is as close as she'll ever get to skis.

Needless to say our trip to Ski & Tennis Station was eventful. Thank goodness we'll never need to return because I'm not 100% sure they would let us.

Ta ta for now. See you on Saturday for the next installment of Moxy on the Move!
